In the beautiful Valle di Chio of Castiglion Fiorentino, a charming medieval estate, close to the historical towns of Cortona, Arezzo, Florence, Siena, Perugia, is San Martino di Sopra, an ancient farm (XIII° c, AD) with two farmhouses in a exclusive and enchanting panoramic position (550 m above sea level).
Both are stone Villas, with a relaxing atmosphere, lovingly restored and furnished with central heating. The two villas can be reached by two private accesses with automatic gate.
Villa Valle Chio 3
The Villa was originally a barn - sqm 110 + sqm 40 patio ( sleeping 4 ). In the front of the villa there is a Veranda with grapes. It has been decorated inside in honour of the wine. It consist of Ground floor with ample living room with Tuscan fireplace, large well equipped kitchen, two bedrooms with bathroom with shower ( one has the bath tub ). The pool ( 12 mt X 5 mt ) is situated 50 mt below the Villa in a magnificent location.
Further information A large part of the hills of the Valle di Chio is covered of trails, with trail markings ( white and red stripes ), extraordinary itineraries for the lovers of TREKKING and MOUNTAIN BIKE. On request Mountain bikes and maps.
During the Summer time a lot of cultural events (music, exhibitions, festivals and food festivals "Sagra") in the area can enhance your stay.Every season has own fascination and beauty. In Autumn: grape and olive harvest. Interesting to follow the process to obtain the wine and the olive oil.
In Winter: enjoying Christmas and New Years Eve in the peace and beauty of the Tuscan hills. In Spring: enjoying the birth of the Nature in this small paradise of Tuscany.
Suggested relax: visiting and enjoying the two Spas naturally heated by thermal water in Rapolano Terme 35 km. Trekking and Mountain Bike. Good table wine, organic olive oil, honey and cheese from the local area are available for the guests.
