Villa Pisolino is located in the spectacular countryside of southern Siena province, where "The English Patient" was filmed. When the present owners discovered the estate, it was a ruined peasants' house. They saw potential, not only because of its size, but also because of the history present in the many different layers of its construction.

In restoring the structure to its final reincarnation as a comfortable family house in the country, the owners' main aim was to honour the various periods of the building's 'life', avoiding the tendency to hurry the process along with fake rustic interiors. Rooms with beamed ceilings are spacious and airy, and offer exciting views of the Orcial River Valley and the surrounding wheat fields and cypress trees.
