The historic Petrolo estate with its famous winery and prestigious olive oil production is a place full of charm steeped in Italian tradition. Villa Petrolo is a fabulous property where one can enjoy Tuscan culture, food and wine and relax by the pool, play tennis or go fishing on one of the private lakes.
Villa Petrolo, the main building on Fattoria Petrolo, dates back to the 1700’s when it was built by architect Massimiliano Soldani as his own private residence. The estate is set amongst vineyards, oak and holm-oak woods and green olive groves - it epitomises all that is traditional in this region of Tuscany. On the estate is the Tower of Galatrona dating back to the Etruscan and Roman eras and Villa Petrolo overlooks the ancient Romanesque Pieve (old parish church) which houses works by Giovanni della Robbia. Beyond the villa are three small private lakes where one may go fishing and, nearby, guests can visit the winery and traditional olive mill.
