Fortifications because of the struggle between Guelfi and Ghibellini, civic and religious documents attest to the events it underwent and to its relation to powerful families from Florence. After almost six years of devoted restoration faithful to the original structure, a beautiful gem has emerged like a phoenix with its Romanesque Church . Its original century old tiled roofs and flooring have been kept or replaced with local pieces found in the region. The plaster followed the old Roman tradition of preparation and painting is natural and originated from local earth. Chestnut windows and doors were hand-planed following antique techniques. Thanks to  this cared work Villa Niccolo is at present a historic residence considered of historic interest by the Ministry of Fine Arts. The estate stretches over 3,5 hectares where you can enjoy its woods, gardens, a magnificent swimming pool, a frescoed 16th century chapel and historic cellars .
