Mount Circeo has a legendary past as it is said that this is where the Greek hero Odysseus landed, ate sacred cattle and had his men transformed by the witch Circe into animals. Stories such as these need to be taken with a large pinch of salt but some parts of the story are clearly more real than others; the beautiful countryside, the soft sandy beaches, the fabulous bays and the fertile land. Terraced hills now form part of the national park of Circeo; a land of sand dunes, rolling hills and verdant mountainsides. The stunning coastal Villa Adele is built into the mountainside within the boundary of the national park and benefits from awe inspiring sea views and a truly peaceful location.
