Rent a Sicilian villa in an orange grove. This luxurious vacation home, San Giorgio Estate, is a restored Sicilian farmhouse set in exotic landscaped gardens in an organic orange grove with views across to Mount Etna.
The house, sleeps 16, and is perfect for a family reunion or a holiday with friends. The main house has eight bedrooms and a library. The living and dining rooms are in the Orangery, which is set at the end of the garden by a 15 metre long pool. The pool is surrounded by lush gardens and a large limestone terrace with lots of sunbeds. There is also a floodlit tennis court.
The San Giorgio estate's cook has been on the island for twenty years and prepares traditional Sicilian dishes with fresh local ingredients, which are mainly grown on the estate. Breakfast is complimentary and includes home made honey and marmalades from the estate, fresh breads, melon, yoghurt, parma ham and local cheeses. Lunch is a selection of cold dishes, salads and local meats and dinner is a proper Italian affair
The vacation home is just five minutes from the nearest village and 20 minutes from Catania airport. Guided tours of Mount Etna can be arranged for guests and unspoilt beaches are 20 minutes away. There are also golf courses within 90 minutes drive.
