This is an area with a sea of olive groves. Nearby Olvera was named for it centuries ago and the view has changed little since then. It is an area of rough stone finca farmhouses, exotic gardens, Colonial manor houses and old religious buildings. Once a Monastery, this beautiful villa stands in the centre of a wonderful garden bursting with scent and flowers. With its whitewashed walls, heavy wrought iron gates hung with vibrant pink bougainvillaea and lush green lawns Monesterejo offers a quintessentially Andalucian experience.
During the restoration much of the original features were kept, the hand cut cotto floors, the thick walls, the beamed ceilings. Interiors are comfortable and have been kept in a simple style suited to the history of the building. Comfortable, spacious and airy the rooms all have wonderful views over the surrounding farmland and onto the soaring sun drenched hills beyond. Ever popular with families looking for a getaway this villa remains one of our personal favourites.
