The luxury villa was originally built in 1700 by the Orsucci family. Having been enlarged in the mid to late eightteenth century, it took its present shape in 1781. In 1836 the villa was bought by Carolina Murat Buonaparte, the queen of Naples. In the noble quarter - on the first floor - you still find her bedroom that remained intact: paintings and ornaments still on their place like enchanted.

Villa Maria Luisa is situated about 12 km from Lucca, the villa is part of the Italian Historic Homes and has entirely preserved its architectonic heritage.

A spacious Mediterranean garden surrounds the villa, in which you can find a large swimming pool surrounded by chairs offering complete relaxation. The villa has air-conditioning in some of the bedrooms on the second floor, heating, dishwasher, stereo with CD player, satellite-TV, and internet connection.
