The villa is one of the most unusual rentals available in the center of Rio de Janeiro. It looks/feels like a old mansion that has sat on the little gated street for a century. Yet is is only six years old. It was designed and built by Mike (a NYC design prof/hotel school grad) and run by Adan (a native of Mexico City transplanted to Rio while his wife completes her PhD). The two principals + craftsmen friends use the villa as a design lab to show their work to clients of their architectural and interior design business. It is ALWAYS a work in progress and the interior photos are apt to change from month to month. It is a high spirited and very fun spot for guests to stay while working or visiting in Rio.
Our cozy luxury villa is situated in the center of Copacabana just three blocks from the world famous beach and a five minute walk from the Copacabana Palace Hotel. It is a newly constructed mansion yet has the feel of a turn of the century villa with fine wood floors, shutters, fireplaces, and stonework. Yet, it has the features of an ultra modern facility - fully equipped chef's kitchen, jacuzzis and waterfall showers, and an atrium that opens to the sky at the push of a button. The third floor with its barbeque, swimming pool, and lush tropical outdoor living/dining spaces is lit with spectacular gas lights. All of the furnishings and amenities bespeak excellence and comfort.
Our house makes an ideal home to a group of friends or couples or a large family who wants to vacation in a casual style and take many of their meals together at home. In the past year we have entertained performers on tour, a family reunion, a bachelor party, and a wedding group. Because the villa is situated on a private lane of 15 family homes - the house is a quiet zone in late evening and security guards on the travessa restrict entrance to only our registered guests making the villa unsuitable for guests who may wish to entertain.
