Los Elementos: Villa de Agua is a tropical Balinese masterpiece, and an exclusive estate for discerning travelers. Set in the rainforests of Hatillo (5 min north of Dominical), it is the gateway to the southern zone, and a perfect mixture between nature, adventure, and luxury. Passing through the ornate front doors, Villa de Agua is a wonderland for the eyes. Everywhere, the details of architectural genius are present from the bamboo ceilings, to the marble pediments on the carved columns, bas relief scuptures on the walls, lighted statues, and hand-created stonework. A few minutes walk away is Playa Guapil-miles of pristine beach. Within a few minutes drive is the Baru wildlife reserve, Baru river, Dominical, Matapalo, and several other beaches. Activities abound, and the verdant mountains are filled with natural wonders such as streams, waterfalls and primary rainforest.
- The details are exquisite. You enter Villa de Agua through the gates, and over a lily pond overlooked by a statue of Ganesha, covered with fresh flowers. To the Balinese, water keeps out evil spirits, and cleanses the soul. Beside the pavilion, a lotus pond fed by an urn-fountain attracts dragonflies. (A great setting by which to read a book, I might add!)
- Only a faint ripple delineates the inset jacuzzi, as the hot water passes freely into the pool.
The Villa de Agua chef will be happy to prepare whatever delicacies you like! There are also several restaurants within a 15 minute drive, including Dominical. Like water, the villa flows the kitchen to the dining room and the dining room to the living areas.
