Perched on a hill with magnificent views to the bay this is one of the most stylish houses we have found in Turkey and it has been featured in numerous architectural magazines. The mix of modern architecture and traditional antique pieces is very striking. Whilst being eminently stylish, this is a family house, Ahmet and Özlem, the owners, have two young children of their own and the property has been designed accordingly. We love the spaciousness of this house, throughout white on white, dark oriental style carved wood enlivened with the dramatic colours of Turkish kilims and Suzani wall hangings, no description can ever do it justice.
There are many special features, a Turkish corner with cobbled floor and fireplace, an elegant gallery with book lined walls and writing desk, and the "secret garden" - an atrium garden, open to the sky and only accessed from the master bedroom and the master bathroom. Every now and then you'll find an Iznik tile set into the wall. Ahmet's Italian connections are evident with a superb Alessi collection in the kitchen.
