This remarkable family home is also a palatial hunting lodge, steeped in history and set within more than five hundred acres of the Sierra de Hornachuelos nature reserve.
As one climbs into the hills of the Sierra de Hornachuelos nature reserve outside Palma del Rio, there is a rough driveway that twists and turns up the hillside and into the distance. This is the private entrance to the estate of San Bernardo. After a while the track gives way to an eucalyptus lined avenue leading to gates that open into the orange and lime groves and eventually one arrives in the main courtyard, planted in the French style and dominated in its centre by an Italian white marble fountain.
