Dar Chmicha is a luxurious moorish style villa, designed and built using the very best of moroccan style and influence with striking works of art giving a real taste of workmanship and a unique experience. Set in a private estate just 13kms outside Marrakech and with views of the Atlas Mountains, it is a perfect destination for an extended family celebration.
The villa is built in the traditional Berber style and sits in its own walled garden of one acre, accessed via large wooden electric gates. You enter the villa through the courtyard garden with its central fountain, through to the main cedar door entrance and into the bright and airy hall.
The craftsmanship is immediately apparent when looking at the domed ceilings with the coloured light filtering through from the moroccan sun. The villa is beautifully decorated with traditional materials including tadelakt plasterwork, zelige tiles and rich cedarwood throughout all rooms. The lighting is handcrafted in Morocco, adding to the intimate and truly wonderful surroundings.
The Sitting room is furnished with a fusion of contemporary furniture in a moroccan style to create a luxurious and comfortable setting. The high ceilings with a central tower incorporating a light well, add to the sense of space and atmosphere. The tadelakt chimney displays local handcrafted ornaments, and works of art adorn the walls. The beautiful dining room, with seating for 12 people, is decorated in warm earthy colours typical of the Berber style.
