From a distance, the tree covered hillsides seem blanketed in trees with patchwork fields at their feet. It isn't until you get up close that you see the vegetation of the area consists principally of cork and holm oak but with chestnut and olive mixed in amongst the wild trees. Clearly agricultural and living a much slower pace of life than thir coastal cousins, this is a land where deer, cattle and pigs may be seen grazing next to olive groves or citrus orchards.
La Nava, a traditional Andalucian cortijo, forms part of an attractive courtyard setting, which also includes the caretaker's quarters in the ancient way. The house is pleasantly furnished in typical Andalucian style, with a pleasing mix of antiques and comfortable country furniture. Three of the four bedrooms, all of which have en suite bathrooms, are accessed from a central courtyard.
Beside the inviting pool, a shady covered verandah with comfortable rattan furniture overlooks the fabulous open countryside and is the ideal spot for a light lunch, breakfast or barbecue dinners with friends and family.
