Approaching the house through the shady lanes of Bitez one is unprepared for the fantastic view from this property over the valley to the sea. The surroundings are green and lush and the position ensures total peace and privacy. Yet, it’s only a short drive down the fairly rough track to the village centre and to the beach at Bitez. There are no neighbours and the house is set in 3 acres of farmland, early and later in the season when the weather is a little cooler local walks around the farm will bring you to the olive groves, the orchards, and the huge vineyard.
The house is a traditionally built farmhouse with stone walls, beamed and bamboo ceilings and gleaming wooden fittings, some exquisitely carved. A spacious sitting room, delightfully furnished with a mix of antique and contemporary pieces, opens onto the shaded pool terrace from one side and on the other side opens to an inner courtyard where there is an old “gumbet” – a water collection building.
