Castello di Tizzano is a splendid 16th-century villa situated on a hill overlooking the Tizzano Chianti vineyards. The property originally housed an 11th century observation tower and, in the 16th century, it was enlarged and restored. Another restoration was completed in the 19th century.
The castle has breathtaking views over rolling vineyards; on a clear day you can even see the Duomo of Florence. Renowned English landscape architect, Cecil Pinsent, designed the beautiful two-acre garden in the 1930s. The infinity pool is positioned on one side of the garden so that it overlooks the vineyards as they extend towards Florence.
Recently restored and refurbished by its owners, the Castello di Tizzano has charming interiors, beautifully decorated with trompe l'oeil effects and superb antique furniture. Nine bedrooms, some with en suite bathrooms, are arranged over the two upper floors and in the adjoining tower. On the ground floor of this spacious villa are many welcoming common areas where the whole family can gather in comfort.
