In the small village of Camaiore, a beautiful village nestled in the hills of Lucca, there is a majestic castle resting on the crest of a hill overlooking a series of charming Tuscan villages. It's the Castello dei Canonici and it's one of the few historic sites in Italy that has remained intact over the centuries. Indeed, the castle is so picturesque that it seems as if it has been directly brought to life from a Walt Disney film.
On the first floor, to the right of the central staircase, there are two lovely bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. The other guestrooms are all located on the second floor, and for this reason, they are all romantic, rustic attic rooms. Having been recently renovated and refurnished, all the rooms maintain a delicate balance between "old-time charm" and modern comfort.
The rest of the castle's bedchambers can be found on the ground floor. A small foyer leads to the large, well-equipped kitchen, which lies adjacent to an impressive marble fireplace that welcomes guests into the dining room. A magnificent sitting room is positioned to the left of the large entry hall; in this room, exquisite Venetian plaster walls and a stunning Venini glass chandelier provide the finishing touches, epitomizing true elegance.
