The origins of Can Riera date back to the Roman Empire, the oldest documented part being from 917 b.C. An important extension was done in the 1800s, which is the part of the house that was restored in 2004 and is inhabitable today.
The property is located in the middle of beautiful countryside, and includes 260 hectares of woods and fields through which runs a small river. The woods are typically Mediterranean, a mixture of pine trees, cork oak trees and bushes. Cork trees are still used to produce some of the best cork wine caps in the world.
