Set in a private game reserve in the Waterberg, three hours north of Johannesburg, it is the ideal retreat at which to relax amidst a dramatic African landscape whilst having a unique experience of game viewing.

It is Ant and Tessa’s policy to take only one booking at a time, even just one couple, in order to ensure that every individual is perfectly looked after. The perfect hosts, Ant has lived all his life in the Waterberg and Tessa brings a colonial influence from her upbringing in Kenya. Ant is a passionate conservationist and has a real local’s understated knowledge of the bush – it is a real privilege and a pleasure to go on a game drive with him.

Ant’s Nest was created to preserve the fauna and flora of this diverse region which is home to over forty species of game including the rare sable antelope, nyala, oryx, brown hyena, white rhino and giraffe. The reserve itself is protected by a large sweep of hills and incorporates a variety of landscapes.
