Overview
Chalet Valhalla was built with beautiful natural timbers and is a structure of grand proportions right in the heart of Chamonix. It is open and light with floor to ceiling windows giving you Titanic views of Mont Blanc.
A minstrel’s gallery overlooks the sitting/dining room and from here you share the same breathtaking view that is enjoyed from below. Add to this contemporary look a touch of traditional Savoyarde style, the Collineige service and cuisine, a roaring fire and there’s the WOW! factor.
Ideal for large family and corporate groups, the icing on the gateau is the hot tub in the snow with the best seat in the house, overlooking Mont Blanc. Valhalla's location hits the high notes, set in an idyllic spot beside the forest it is also only a short stroll to the centre... More importantly it is a mere two minutes staggering distance from the popular MBC bar and the Michelin starred Albert 1er is just around the corner. Perfect!
At Collineige we offer you superlative service, world class cuisine and complete flexibility. We are committed to providing a memorable holiday that will meet if not exceed your expectations. Our staff in Chamonix are either locals or devoted Francophiles which means that we can open all the right doors for you and ensure that you enjoy the many pleasures of the real France.
You will find that our team offers a highly personal and dependable service. During your holiday with us there will be no time wasted walking to the ski pass office or negotiating for a guide or instructor. Your Collineige representative will make all these arrangements for you before and during your holiday.
This makes all the difference when time is tight on a corporate break for example, or when the logistics of moving a family seem overwhelming.

Dining
Collineige has deservedly built up a first class reputation for its cuisine. Food and wine continue to be an extremely important part of any Collineige catered holiday and we take great care to ensure that you will not be disappointed.
Our chefs are ‘borrowed’ from the Michelin starred restaurants of Europe to cook for you in your chalet. They will source the finest local ingredients to prepare mouth watering menus to suit your tastes, taking their inspiration from the specialities of Savoy and further afield.
Our catered chalet prices include homemade cake & tea after skiing and on five evenings each week, a four course dinner with wine. The chefs do not have a fixed menu but enjoy creating menus to suit your preferences. We provide a very good house wine and you may also upgrade this by buying from our carefully chosen wine list.
Two evenings a week you will enjoy the opportunity to sample one of the many local restaurants. For children, we provide early children's suppers. Here are some of the more popular menu items we serve:
Starters: Salad of warm goats cheese Rocket sweetcorn soup Basil cream duck in filo pastry Ocean trout caviar

Children
Few places are as beautiful or as inspiring to ski as Chamonix, and it is a wonderful place in which to introduce your family to skiing. In the last few years many more beginner and intermediate ski areas have been opened and in Chamonix itself the nursery slopes at Les Planards and Le Savoy with their attendant ski schools are a great draw for young families.
It is important to choose the right kind of ski instruction for each member of the family and we are happy to advise on this and book the lessons for you. Equally if you need child care whilst you are with us then we can arrange this. We know a number of experienced and qualified carers in the valley and will help you to find the most suitable. We can provide cots, highchairs, car seats and pushchairs on request (in all chalets and apartments).
There is a supply of toys available and in the catered chalets we are happy to provide early children's suppers. With the right chalet, ski instruction and service you are set to enjoy a memorable family holiday.

The town is at an altitude of 1035 metres, and the River Arve runs through it as it does through the other hamlets and villages of the commune - Le Tour (1453m), Argentière (1252m), Les Tines and Les Praz (1060m) and Les Bossons (1012m).

Activities / What to do there?
Chamonix is well placed for visiting other places of interest and not only in France - it is on the borders of Switzerland and Italy. Courmayeur is only a short drive away through the Mont Blanc tunnel and Geneva is a must for those needing a little retail therapy.
For a day’s pampering there is the Pre Saint Didier spa with thermal baths just past Courmayeur and there are more thermal baths at Leytron, beyond Martigny. Other nearby ski resorts to visit are Megève and St Gervais.
Chamonix is famous for its winter sporting activities with skiing, snowboarding, ski touring, and cross country skiing the main draw for winter guests, alongside more adventurous snowsport activities such as a guided off-piste descent of the world famous Vallee Blanche or heli-skiing in neighbouring Italy & Switzerland. You could also try Paraponting (Paragliding), Husky Sledding, Ski Joering, Hot Air Ballooning (Vol en Montgolfiere), Horse Drawn Sleigh, Glacier walking, Snow Shoeing, a Mountaineering course, Ice Climbing lessons or Guided Glacier Walks, Winter Walking on trails and Tobogganing - most of which are great for skiers & non-skiers alike.
Chamonix also has a casino, cinema, library, art galleries, an Alpine museum, a geological exhibition, an ice rink, a bowling alley, a summer luge and a summer animal park . We can arrange health & beauty treatments in your chalet, or there is a leisure centre in central Chamonix, offering an indoor swimming pool, a children’s amusement pool with waterfall, river rapids, water jets and massages, 130m covered water slide, padding pool, solarium, solarium, jacuzzi, hamman and sauna as well as several very chic spa resorts within a short drive where you can pamper yourself for the day.
Go up a lift to 3842m to check out the view at the Aguille de Midi, take a trip on the Mont Blanc tramway or visit Montenvers and the Mer de Glace on the train. At Montenvers you can visit the old hotel & museum, and also view the glaciers, and the skiers & boarders finishing the Vallee Blanche off piste ski run.
Chamonix is a charming, vibrant town, busy all year round, with a huge variety of things to do, a great atmosphere and with wonderful après ski bars & restaurants and shops, such as Chanel, Napapijri, Patagonia and Helly Hansen to name but a few. Chamonix is also a gourmet's paradise boasting many superb restaurants including the Michelin starred Albert 1er and Le Bistrot.
