Santana is located in a nature reserve called the "Laurissilva" (laurel forest) and is surrounded by boxwoods, hydrangeas, ferns and wild fuchsias. As a starting point to enjoy the local footpaths called Queimdas it is by far one of the best we have discovered with plentiful opportunities to explore the beautiful coastline and the dramatic mountainous interior.

The Casas do Pomar is made up of a central building with a couple of outstretched wings and a cottage. It was once a rural farm that has been converted into clean and comfortable apartments and studios that offer well furnished holiday homes high up on the northern coast. The plentiful facilities on offer and the hearty breakfast served every day will keep even the most jaded of palates fired up. Lie back on your own terrace, enjoy the views, read a good book, enjoy the peace and quiet then breathe deep and relax.
