Day 01: Arrive Ahmedabad
- Once you arrive Ahmedabad, our representative will meet and assist you to your Hotel. You have time to relax in the hotel through the day. Evening we visit the famous Utensil museum at Vishala, where you enjoy a rural Gujarati traditional dinner at the village style restaurant, sitting cross-legged on the floor, listening to folk music and watching folk dances. Overnight stay at the hotel. (D)
- Early morning heritage walk of the old quarter of Ahmedabad. Full day sightseeing of Ahmedabad once known as ‘The Manchester of the East’, due to its importance as a textile town. Highlights of the visit include: the Calico textile museum, with its rare collection of tapestries, Mahatma Gandhi’s Ashram, the Siddi Sayed Mosque and the Adalaj Stepwell. Overnight Stay hotel. (B)
- Drive to the World Heritage Site of Champaner (the site of Pavagarh archeological Park) to see the vast complex of mosques built by Mahmud Begada. Drive further on to the Jambughoda Palace, a simple royal mansion in the midst of mature gardens - a beautiful retreat for nature lovers. Overnight at the Jambughoda Palace. (B/L/D)
- Full day excursion to the tribal villages of Jambughoda. Most of the tribals living in and around Jambughoda are ‘Rathwas’ & ‘Nayaks’. They are superstitious and God-fearing people. The entrance to their home is through a richly carved wooden door with figurines and tribal icons. The front is usually decorated with Pithora paintings for which the ‘Rathwas are known for. The tribals do not live in hamlets. Their dwellings are separated from each other by considerable distance. The tribal museum of Chhota Udaipur has a large collection of tribal artifacts. Many tribal artifacts are also brought for sale in the ‘hats’ (weekly markets) in the city and nearby villages. Overnight Stay at Jambughoda Palace. (B/L/D)
- Drive to Bhavnagar, known as the cultural capital of Saurastra (A region of western India, located on the Arabian Sea coast of Gujarat state), enroute visiting Lothal - The 4,500-year-old city, was an important port on the Indian subcontinent during the Harappan era. Overnight at the hotel. (B)
- Drive to Palitana and visit the magnificent Jain temples located atop Mount Shatrunjaya. The peak is a 3½ km climb of over 3,500 steps from the town. (B)
- Drive down to Sasangir known as the last bastion of the endangered Asiatic lion. Gir is also home to one of the largest leopard populations in India. Stay overnight at hotel (B/L/D)
- Early morning and late afternoon wildlife viewing in search of the Asiatic lion and other wildlife. Stay overnight at hotel (B/L/D)
- After breakfast, drive to Gondal, enroute visit Junagadh - An ancient fortified city rich in myth and legend, Junagadh lies at the foot of Girnar Hill and takes its name from the 'Old Fort' which circles the medieval town. The Girnar Hills stands from 2500 years BC having a legend of the rimes of the emperor Ashoka (250 BC) who’s fourteen Rock Edicts can be seen cut into a great rock outside the city. Junagadh breathes history. These edicts set up by Ashoka, the Great Indian emperor, date back 2200 years. Within this ancient fort of Uparkot, the architectural marvels of Hindu Chudasma rulers and Muslim Mohmud Beghda coexist in perfect harmony. The majestic Mohabatkhan Maqbara, a memorial to Junagadh's Babi Ruler and the Veritable Darbar Hall museum show that Junagadh continued to make history untill as recently as 100 years ago. Arrive Gondal and check-in at hotel. Later on we go for the visit of the Naulakha Palace –coined as the pride of Gondal and famous for its superb architecture. Stay overnight at the hotel (B)
- Drive to Bhuj, capital of the captivating Kutch region. En route visit Dhamadka, famous for natural dyes and block printing and a tribal village renowned for exquisite embroidery work. Overnight stay at the Hotel. (B/ L/ D)
- Morning tour of the walled city of Bhuj with a visit to the Aina Mahal, the tribal museum and the colourful markets. Afternoon visit to the Bhujodi village to watch different textile techniques including shawl weaving, Rabari embroidery work and tie and dye work. Overnight stay Hotel. (B, L, D)
- Full day Jeep excursion to the Banni villages, where the local women produce colorful handicrafts. Also visit Nirona, home to the only family left practicing the centuries old art of Rogan painting. (B/L/D)
- After breakfast, drive to Mandvi – one of the premium beaches in Gujarat and is also a historic port town of the Maharao of Kachchh. Arrive Mandvi and check in at The Beach Camp at Mandvi. (B/L/D)
- Day at relaxation on the beach. Overnight stay at The Beach Camp at Mandvi. (B/L/D)
- Post breakfast we proceed to Dasada- Little Rann of Kutch (Tribes and Cultural Highlights of Gujarat starts with a journey to Dasada) which is a unique place on earth with an unending possibility of exploration, numerous sites for unbelievable sights and unforgettable experiences. - Morning drive to Poshina-A large village in the middle of about 80 tribal hamlets. Visit Patan which is famous for its incredible step-wells, clay toys and superb textile work by Patola weaving families. Next we visit Modhera’s Sun Temple, designed so the first rays of the sun fell on the image of Surya, the Sun God, at each equinox. Arrive Poshina and check-in at Darbarhgardh Poshina. (B/L/D)
