Day 1 Depart USA

Today you depart on your overnight flight to Delhi the capital city of India and a charming blend of historic past and vibrant present so much so the that city is informally divided into Old Delhi and New Delhi.

Day 2 Welcome to India

You arrive late in the day and met by your guide who will assist you in getting to the car that will take you to The Imperial, where a good night's rest awaits.

Day 3 Introduction to Delhi

Since you arrive in Delhi late in the previous day, we have left the entire morning free for you to catch up on your sleep. After lunch, your guide will pick you up for a personalized introduction to Delhi. You will visit Humayun's Tomb, the first major example of Mughal architecture in India and an inspiration for the Taj Mahal. You will also visit the site of the cremation of Gandhi, the non-violent leader of Indian independence. Tonight enjoy an intimate welcome dinner at the hotel's famed restaurant " The Spice Route" considered as one of the top ten restaurants in the world by Conde Nast Traveler.

Day 4 Highlights of Imperial Delhi

After breakfast you will be taken on a guided tour of Jama Masjid followed by a thrilling Rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes of heritage bazaar the " chandni Chawk" known as silver street.You will see the old fort built in 900 BC with walls close to a mile in length. you will also see the famous red fort named for the red stone from which it was built.You then explore the highlights of New Delhi noted for its wide avenues and mix of classical Mughal architecture and the design of the British Raj, particularly those buildings designed by Sir Edwin Luytens, the chief architect of Imperial India. During our trip we will view India Gate, Luytens' memorial to the over 70,000 Indian soldiers killed in World War I and also home to the eternal flame honoring Indian soldiers who died during the 1971 war with Pakistan. We will also see Rathtrapati Bhavan which was built in 1929 as the home of the British Viceroy. At its peak, it took 2,000 people to maintain it. After lunch you return to the hotel to relax or enjoy its many amenities.

Day 5 Traveling to Hyderabad

After breakfast, your guide will meet you in the lobby and escort you to the airport for the flight to Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh and central India's counterpart to the Moghul splendors of northern Indian cities like Delhi and Agra.Upon arrival you are met by your guide who will take you to your hotel. after lunch you have the afternoon at leisure to relax or do some shoppping or sightseeing. The city is a little visited metropolis of crowded bazaars and grandiose Islamic monuments, and is famous as the former seat of the outrageously wealthy Nizams of Hyderabad. The city straddles the Musi River and is separated from its modern twin, Secunderabad, by the Hussain Sagar ( Reservoir). Most of Hyderabad's outstanding attractions were built during the Muslim Qutub Shahi dynasty, which ruled from 1543 until 1687 when it was taken over by the Moghul Emperor Aurangzeb.

Day 6 Golconda Fort and Other Attractions

Today your guide will take you on a private tour of the city including its prominent sights. The city's primary feature is the Golconda Fort, one of the least visited but most magnificent fortress complexes in India. Located six miles west of the city, it comprises a citadel built on a 360 foot granite hill surrounded by crenellated ramparts constructed of large masonry blocks. A huge triumphal arch, Charminar, in the centre of the walled city was built to commemorate the end of a plague in 1591. the beautiful Mecca Masjid, nearby, is one of the world's largest mosques. Other sights that you will see includes the stunning white-marble Hindu Temple, Birla Mandir, which graces a rocky hill overlooking the city; the modern 51 foot stone Buddha, which spent two years at the bottom of the reservoir before being salvaged and hoisted onto the dam wall; and the Salar Jang Muuseum, India's answer to London's Victoria & Albert, which boasts over 35,000 eclectic exhibits.

Day 7 Relaxing in Hyderabad and Arriving in Mumbai

You have a good part of the day set aside for your own activities whether that be shopping, sightseeing or enjoying the hotel's amenities. In the afternoon you are transferred to the airport for the flight to Mumbai. Upon arrival you are transferred to your landmark hotel located overlooking the Gateway to India and the Mumbai Harbor.

Day 8 The Elephanta Caves and The Remnants of the Raj

Located on an island off Mumbai's eastern shore, lies the 6th century Elephanta cave temples, chiselled into a rocky cliff and dedicated to Shive. Today, with your guide, this will be the first visit of the day. The caves contain some masterpieces of Indian sculpture. With the origins of the cave temples lost in obscurity, they probably represent the late period of Brahmanical revival after Buddhism began to decline. Regardless of its origin it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and well worth the visit. You return to the mainland and are taken on a private visit to some of they sights of the city dating back to the British period. The most famous landmark is the Gateway to India, built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911. It was the first sight to greet travelers to the Indian shores during the heyday of the British Raj. The most impressive example of Victorian Gothic architecture in India is the Victoria Terminus railway station. A richly ornamented extravaganza of domes, spires and arches, it was named to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee. Your last visit will be to the Prince of Wales Museum, renowned for its superb sculptures and miniature paintings.

Day 9 Departure for Goa

You have the morning at leisure for personal sightseeing or shopping. After lunch you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to the former Portuguese colony of Goa and playing a starring role in the movie " The Bourne Supremacy". Upon landing you are met by your guide and escorted to your hotel where you can relax in your room overlooking the sea.

Day 10 Morning Sightseeing, Afternoon Beachtime

This morning you will have a chance to visit the key sights of Goa including the Archbishop's palace and Government House.It is a delightfully laidback and charming place full of beaches and churches and hills. The people of Goa are a mix of Portuguese descendants and moder settlers. You will enjoy your stay.

Day 11 A Day at Leisure


We have left today open to allow you to relax on the beach or head into town for shopping and people watching.

Day 12 From Goa to Kochi

After breakfast you have more time to relax or take dip in the ocean. In the afternoon your guide will be ready to take you to the airport for the flight to Kochi, foremerly known as Cochin. You will arrive in the early evening and be met by your guide who will take you to your hotel which is located on a peninsula overlooking the harbor. You are able to enjoy the water views from your room before going to dinner.

Day 13 Exploring Cochin

This commercial city, also called " The Queen of the Arabian Sea" has, over the centuries attracted visitors from distant shores including Arabia and Europe. On your private tour today you will visit the Dutch Palace, built in 1555 AD by the Portuguese for a local king. You will also visit the famous Jew Street, a cul-de-sac leading to the beautiful Parsi Synagogue built in 1568. A walking tour of Fort Kochi will take tou through the streets still graced with traces of Portuguese, Dutch and British colonial architecture, including a few old trading factories, the only ones still standing anywhere in the world. You have time for shopping in the afternoon and ladis should note that the city is famous for its designer Gold Jewelry. In the evening you will be taken to view a Kathakali dance performance.

Day 14 A Day of Exploring, a Night of Discovery

After breakfast you are free to check out the antque stores in town, see the Chinese fishing nets strung out around the harbor and immerse yourself in the area. In the evening we will take you to Malabar Junction, one of our favorite restaurants and offering some of the best seafood in Southern India. To accompany the meal we offer you a bottle of Indian Wine. Yes, Indian wine, grown in the Western Ghats and coming in to its own among those in the know.

Day 15 Return to Delhi

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Delhi. Upon arrival you are met and escorted to a hotel close to the airport where you have a chance to swim and relax before having dinner. After dinner you will be escorted to the airport and assisted with check in for your return flight to the US.

Day 16 Arrive in the USA

You have an early morning departure bound for the US where you arrive later the same day.
