Day 1 Depart USA
Your adventure begins with an overnight flight to Santiago. Dinner and breakfast on board.
Day 2 Santiago Exploration
Upon arrival and after passing though arrival formalities your driver will meet you and escort you to your deluxe hotel located in magnificent gardens in one of Santiago's best residential areas. After an opportunity to freshen up, your guide will pick you up for a personalized tour of the city including Moneda Palace and Plaza de Armas. You will drive down Parque Forestal which is modeled on the Champs d'elysees and continue to the bohemian area of Bellavista where you climb San Cristobal Hill for a panoramic view of the city with the Andes Mountains creating a breathtaking back drop. Dinner is at your hotel this evening.
Day 3 Vina del Mar, Valparaíso and the Maipo Valley
After breakfast your driver will meet you and head for the central coast of Chile traveling through the Curacavi and Casablanca valleys. The Casablanca valley has recently received notice as an up and coming wine area. Arriving at the coast you visit the beach area of Renaca and the town of Vina del Mar, known as the garden city for its attractive parks and flower lined streets. You will visit the gaming casino and take a drive along the coastal road. After an enjoyable seafood lunch at Restaurant Delicias del Mar, you continue to the picturesque port of Valparaiso built in the 16th century on 43 hills and reached by narrow windy streets, staircases and a series of funicular elevators. After exploring this UNESCO designated city you begin your vineyard exploration with a visit to the Maipo Valley, the oldest wine-producing valley in Chile and home to such well known labels as Concha y Toro, Santa Rita and Almaviva, a joint venture between Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Concha y Toro. You arrive at Vinery Vina Tarapaca where you will be spending the night in its 19 bedroom estate house. Here you will meet your personal wine expert who will conduct a wine tasting at the vineyard followed by a dinner at the estate house.
Day 4 Tarapaca, San Fernando and Santa Cruz
After Breakfast your personal wine expert will guide you as you head to the Colchagua Valley, commonly referred to as "Chile's Napa Valley" because it produces some of the country's most exciting wines. You will stop at Vina Casa Silva, the oldest and most traditional winery in the Colchagua Valley. You enjoy a personal wine tasting and lunch at the vineyards renowned restaurant before heading to the small town of Santa Cruz where you will overnight.
Day 5 From the Vineyards to the Lakes
After breakfast you are transferred to the airport for our flight to Bariloche located in the Lake district of Patagonia. Upon your arrival you are met and driven to our hotel. The Llao Llao Hotel is situated in one of the most scenic spots in Patagonia. Located between the lakes Nahuel Huapi and Moreno, it is also surrounded by mountains, This afternoon you have a chance to enjoy the scenery and the resort's many activities.
Day 6 Exploring the natural wonders of Bariloche
This morning you embark on a walking tour that allows you to take a broad look at Bariloche, its surroundings, lakes and history. The aim is to enjoy the woodlands first hand, one of the main attractions of the region. With your guide you hear the sounds of the forest such as the trill of the chucao or the regular pecking of some woodpecker. You even have the chance to taste some of the herbs that grow in the wild. This afternoon you can take a swim in the pool or the lake, try some mountain biking or just relax at the spa. Did we mention that the resort also has a magnificent golf course?
Day 7 Sailing in tranquil lake waters
After a leisurely breakfast you depart for the dock where you board your sailing boat for a cruise on the lake. As you cruise on the tranquil waters, you are surrounded by mountains and woods. You disembark at Victoria Island where the chef will prepare a gourmet lunch for you. Later you will walk off lunch by exploring the Arrayanes forest with your guide and learning about the properties of trees and roots. Fishing and swimming in the lake are also good options before sailing back to the resort.
Day 8 Bariloche to Buenos Aires
Your driver will take you to the airport for your flight to Argentina's Capital city. You arrive in Buenos Aires where your driver is waiting to take you to the Alvear Palace which opened its doors in 1932 in the heart of the Recoleta, the most refined quarter in Buenos Aires with elegant parks, wide avenues and classical and elegant architecture. After lunch, the rest of the day is free to relax or explore the neighborhood. This evening you will go to one of the city's better steak houses and that means one of the best anywhere since Argentineans take their beef seriously.
Day 9 A City of Contrasts and… the Tango
Buenos Aires is, undoubtedly, the Latin American city that best resembles the cosmopolitan and aristocratic atmosphere of the big European capitals both Paris and Madrid come to mind. But beyond this Buenos Aires there lies another one, holding the small colored houses of La Boca and the popular tango that lives in San Telmo streets. This is the mixture that makes the city an original and irresistible metropolis. With your private guide you view the city’s highlights and delve into its history and culture. In the evening you dine atEl Viejo Almacenthe location, where, it is said, the Tango was born. It has also been said that only in Buenos Aires could the Tango be born. Only in this haunting city of immigrants could music of such emotional depth spring forth and take hold of a population Tonight you enjoy a musical ode to feelings of longing, passion and love as the sights and sounds of the Tango fill our senses.
Day 10 A brief hop to Punta del Este
After a leisurely morning you are driven to the airport for the thirty five minute flight from Buenos Aires to Punta del Este located on the coast of Uruguay. You are met by your driver and taken to see the high spots of this trendy beach resort. You will see the Peninsula with its iconic lighthouse, the Brava sea walk with its golden beaches and the houses of the rich and famous. Tonight you have the chance to sample of the hotel's fine restaurants before trying your luck at the casino located in the hotel.
Day 11 Enjoying Punta del Este
You have the day free for shopping in sightseeing in town or relaxing by the pool or on the beach. One suggestion would be to go to the fishing village of Jose Ignacio. We have left lunch open today to allow you more flexibility. Tonight you have a farewell dinner at a special restaurant, a wonderful way to say goodbye to the cities you have seen in the last few days.
Day 12 Fly to Buenos Aires, Depart for USA
After breakfast, your driver will take you to the airport for the flight to Buenos Aires where you connect with your return flight to the US.
Day 13 Arrival in US
You arrive back in the US at breakfast time.
