Description of Luxury Private Journey - Live Like a Local in Paris
But slip underneath the tourist veneer and you’ll see the city with fresh eyes.
In our Live Like a Local experience we’ll arrange for you to have your own Parisian apartment, and point you to the hidden local shops, markets, restaurants, cafes and patisseries kept secret and only known to the residents themselves.
slip in to local life
Spend four days exploring the city like a local and you’ll never look back. On arrival at the train station or airport, hop in a taxi and head for your new home with the directions we’ve provided before you leave. From now on you’re a local, a genuine city-dweller: time to brush up on your Français.
In your flat you’ll find your key ingredients to local life awaiting you: food in your fridge, coffee ready to brew, a mobile phone ready to use (with a 24hr in-the-know contact on speed dial), and your all important Little Black Tomato Book as your guide of the city. This book will have been specially created for you just before you leave to make sure you have the most up-to-datefood, drink and entertainment recommendations possible.
You’ll find directions and contact details of all our favourite local hangouts in there too.
oysters and fine cheese
Hungry? You’re in the right place. Your Little Black Book (and 24 hour contact) will guide you to the city’s best seafood restaurant with oysters categorised by place of origin, old Parisian galleries cleverly transformed into top-notch dining rooms, and a whole range of local eateries from typically local to fusion-Japanese. Delicieux. We’ll also guide you to daily markets, where you’ll never be short of a baguette or some sumptuous fromage.
shopping gems
No trip to Paris is complete without some world-class shopping. Away from the tourist-laden Champs Elysee (where, let’s face it, the price tags can be high), simply wander to trendy designer charity shops where top labels can be found at low prices and all the proceeds go to charity, bohemian streets packed with vintage shops and little gems of boutiques buried away from the crowds. Retail bliss.
And, for the crème de la crème of French experiences, visit our favourite café and shop selling the freshest home-made tarts: perfect for the post-shopping snack and all in the Little Black Book.
At night, there are restaurants galore for an intimate dinner, or atmospheric bars for some true local nightlife. Just one word of warning: once you’re into the swing of living life as a local in Paris, you’ll need to be careful not to miss your train home.
