Day 1 Depart USA

You board our overnight flight to Dubai ready to begin your Arabian adventure.

Day 2 Arrival in Dubai

You arrive in the late evening of the next day. Your driver is waiting to take you for the ride into the desert where your Bedouin suite awaits. If you want to refresh after the flight, the suites each have their own private temperature controlled pools.

Day 3 Relaxing in the Desert

After the flight and a good night's rest, you have the opportunity to have a massage at the resort's spa or take a dip in the pool. Don't feel guilty. In order to conserve the desert's most precious resource and in keeping with the resort's eco-focus, all the water is fully recycled and returned to its groundwater source via a unique irrigation system. After lunch you have the choice of archery lessons, falconry lessons or exploring the desert by 4WD, horse or, for true authenticity, a camel. For the less adventurous, you can lie by the pool and watch the Oryx grazing nearby. Tonight a dinner under Arabian stars.

Day 4 From the Old World to The New

After breakfast, your driver will be waiting to take you into cosmopolitan Dubai Your initial visit will be to what was, at one time, the Iranian quarter of the city, thankfully saved from the developers, and restored as a testament to how things were. Today, however the buildings house art galleries and even restaurants. You will visit a cultural center where you learn the function of the Majlis, how to drink coffee in the appropriate manner and learn more about the Islamic culture. You then go to the Jumeirah Mosque, the city's largest. Your lunch allows you to make the transition from the traditional to the untraditional. It is claimed that there are more cranes in use in Dubai than in any other place in the world. On your introductory tour of the city you will see the completion of the Burj Dubai, the tallest building in the world, the Palm, the largest man made island complex in the world and a 450 feet indoor ski run complete with chair lift and real snow. After this overview,  you check into your hotel overlooking the Dubai Creek  you have a chance to relax and enjoy dinner overlooking the water.

Day 5 A Day Trip to Abu Dhabi

While Dubai is recognized as the commercial capital of the U.A.E. (United Arab Emirates), it is Abu Dhabi that is the political and governmental centre. It too has gone though tremendous changes in the last fifty years through a combination of the creation of the U.A.E. after the British left and the discovery of oil. Abu Dhabi lies south of Dubai and upon your arrival you will be amazed to see a city skyline reminiscent of New York and a Corniche reminiscent of the Riviera or Copacabana. You will visit the areas of historic interest, enjoy lunch and visit the local souk before returning to Dubai.

Day 6 The Souks and The Sultanate

Dubai has long been known as "the city of merchants" going back to ancient days and that still holds true today. From the ancient souks to the world-class shopping complex', Dubai is a shopper's paradise. With your own driver, shopping is made easier and you start first with a visit to the souks selling spices including saffron, frankincense and other exclusive fragrances. Other souks offer handmade shoes, Persian carpets (be prepared to negotiate) and textiles. It is the gold souk; however, that is the prime attraction with its vast array of glittering gold jewelry available. After lunch, you proceed to the airport for the 40 minute flight to Muscat, the capital of Oman. Upon arrival you will be met by your guide who will take you to a private lounge where you can relax while immigration and customs formalities are taken care of. You are then taken to your hotel which is situated on the coast with its own shaded cove and beach.

Day 7 Exploring Muscat

After breakfast your driver will be waiting to take you in to the center of Muscat for an overview of this fascinating city. You will visit the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and take a tour of the Bait Al Zubair Museum, a former private home and now a good place to trace Oman's history and development. A drive along the Corniche will allow you to visit the local fish market and the colourful Muttrah Souk. Your exploration then includes the Al Alam Palace, official residence of the Sultan, flanked by two 16th century forts, a legacy of Portuguese occupancy of the area before they were thrown out by the Omanis. After your touring you enjoy a delightful lunch at a hilltop restaurant serving excellent Indian cuisine. The afternoon is free to relax by one of the pools or enjoy the tranquil waters of the Arabian Gulf.

Day 8 Dolphin and Whale Watching in the Arabian Gulf

A short drive from your hotel will bring you to the marina where a boat is waiting to take you out along the coast. Dolphins will swim close by and you may be lucky enough to see some of the whales that inhabit the warm waters off the coast. You will also get a chance to see the great contrast between the rugged red-tinged coast line abutting the blue waters of the Arabian Gulf. After the cruise and lunch you return to the hotel for some more relaxation before enjoying an alfresco dinner.

Day 9 A Farewell to Oman and Dubai

You have the morning at leisure providing the opportunity to visit the cultural village close to the hotel, try a treatment at the spa or just relax on the beach. After lunch you will be driven to the airport for your return flight to Dubai. This evening you have dinner on a Bateaux Dubai vessel, watching as the skyline of Dubai passes by you as you dine. These are the same types of vessels well known on the Seine in Paris but now at home in Arabian waters.

Day 10 Return to USA

Your driver is waiting to take you to the airport for your morning flight to the US. Because of the time change you arrive in the afternoon of the same day.
