Description of Private Sightseeing Tour - A Bike With A View: Florence
- Take a perfect day trip from Florence into the peace and beauty of the Tuscan countryside. You will meet the group at a bike shop in central Florence where you'll be supplied with a helmet and a 24-gear hybrid bike*. Cycling through safe roads, your guide will lead you into the surrounding countryside where you'll stop to enjoy the enchanting views of the city, the hills and the picture-perfect olive groves and vineyards. From here, you'll ride for a further 10 miles to the lovely village of Impruneta where you'll pause for a quick visit. Next stop is lunch, where you can taste exquisite local food along with a guided tasting of Chianti wines. Depending on availability, lunch will be served at either a farmhouse or a private villa.
- You'll return to Florence by a different route, so that you can appreciate more astonishing views. Before the tour ends, the group will stop at Piazzale Michelangelo for a photo opportunity and then near Piazza Santa Croce for another wine tasting. You'll be back at the meeting point at approximately 4 p.m. By this time you're bound to have worked up an appetite so your tour guide will be happy to suggest his favorite Florentine gelateria or restaurant.
- At 9:15am meet the group at the designated location
- At 9:30am leave central Florence to bike to Impruneta
- Quick visit to Impruneta and continue your ride through the countryside
- Stop for lunch at approximately 1:00pm
- Ride back to Florence by a different route with a stop at Piazzale Michelangelo where you'll enjoy a great view of the city
- Wine tasting near Piazza Santa Croce
- Return to starting point
