Description of One week Luxury Ski Safari in the Dolomites, Italy

Magical skiing, unbeatable scenery, superb cuisine and delightful hospitality – anyone who loves skiing in an unspoilt part of the world will adore our Ski Safaris in the Dolomites – there’s nowhere quite like it!

Completely novel and unique to the world of skiing, we are thrilled to introduce tailor made ski safaris in the spectacular Italian Dolomites – arguably the most beautiful mountain range in the world. Mario Delmonego, ski instructor and guide extraordinaire, and his colleagues were born and bred in the Dolomites and will give their clients the experience of a lifetime. Fluent in Italian, the local languages of Fodom and Ladino, as well as English and German, Mario is not only an excellent skier and instructor, he also has an unmatched passion for the mountains, is a fully qualified chef and is great fun.

A ski safari in the Dolomites takes clients on a voyage of discovery. The largest ski terrain in the world, the Dolomites are rich in beauty and history as well as, of course, varied and exhilarating skiing. The lift system is state of the art, mountain refuges are in abundance serving mouth watering pasta dishes, polenta with capriolo, speck and local cheeses, apple strudel and excellent Trentino wines – not forgetting a shot of grappa to help one down the mountain!

Beginning in the charming village of Arabba on the famous Sella Ronda with its fabulous black run from Portovescovo, clients will relish the week’s skiing ahead. After a night in Arabba and introductory dinner and chat the safari begins and a week of fun, varied and invigorating skiing. Clients are taken first to Marmolada Glacier, then on to Lagazuoi (famous WorldWar scene and location forWhere Eagles Dare), the stunning 5 Torri and down to Cortina and skiing on Tofana. The safari continues to the Val Gardena and the famous world cup run, Santa Cristina and beautiful Alpe di Siusi, Val Badia and Val di Fassa. The end of the week takes clients to Plan de Corones and San Vigilio before heading back to Arabba for the final night and yet another sumptious and mouth watering dinner.

Accommodation varies between hotels, bed and breakfasts and atmospheric and memorable mountain refuges. People in the Dolomites pride themselves on the high quality of accommodation, fabulous cuisine, cleanliness and efficiency so no need to worry about soft beds and no hot water! Luggage is transported throughout the week so all guests need to think about is having a fun time.
