You commence your safari in Tanzania as you board your overnight flight to Europe where you coonect with a flight to Tanzania.
Day 2 Welcome to Arusha.
You arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport in Arusha in the afternoon and are met by our representative who will guide you to your car for the trip to your luxury lodge located in the middle of a working coffee plantation. After a chance to relax you enjoy the Lodge's justly renowned cuisine.
Day 3 Tarangire and the Elephant Migration
After a good night's sleep and breakfast, you are ready to return to the airport where your aircraft is waiting to take you to a private game reserve close to Lake Manyara and in proximity to the borders of the Serengeti. This area is noted for the Elephants who migrate through. You enjoy a great view of the activities since your rooms are situated in large Baobab trees with balconies offering splenid views. After a chance to have lunch and relax you go out for en evening game drive followed by sundowners and dinner.
Day 4 Game Viewing in Tarangire
You can choose from game walks on foot or in vehicles both accompanied by knowledgeable guides. You have morning and evening viewings and in between you have the opportunity to lie by the pool, read a book or, like many of the animals take a nap to avoid the midday heat. In the evening you can join the other guests in the dining room or have a private dinner on your terrace.
Day 5 From Tarangire to the Serengeti
After a morning game viewing you head to one of Tanzania's most well known areas, the Serengeti plain and your charming lodge which abuts the Nrogorngoro conservation area. Often described as the "eighth wonder of the world" the Ngoorongoro crater is nearly three million years old. An extinct volcano measuring 100 square miles and with surrounding walls 1,800 feet it is the perfect caldera, the largest on earth. Fresh springs and a large soda lake quench the thirst of all the inhabitants. Giant tusked elephants wander the Savannah and the Lerai Forest, black-maned lions stalk the grasslands and Black Rhino are also to be found along with Flamingoes in the soda lake. you have a chance to view this during an evening game drive.
Day 6 A Full Day Game Drive in the Crater
This morning you head out with your guide for a full day game drive within the crater. A sanctuary for over 25,000 animals, the crater is also frequented by the Masai. Today you will search for lion, elephants, leopard, cheetah and plains game. You're sure to see most but the leopard can be elusive. After a day of game viewing relax after dinner in your lodge's piano lounge.
Day 7 Driving the Serengeti Plain
You awaken to the smells of freshly baked breads and begin your day with a visit to Olduvai Gorge where Dr. Leakey made his amazing and sometimes controversial discovery. One of the staff will give you a lecture on fossils of both our human ancestors and those of the animals alive in those times. Leaving the Gorge you proceed to the Serengeti National Park where you check into your lodge famous for its location on the main wildebeest migration route between the Serengeti and the Masai Mara, along the bank of the Grumeti River. You have time for a swim before embarking on an evening game drive.
Day 8 A Day on the Serengeti
An early morning bush walk has been arranged for you this morning accompanied by a special breakfast prepared and served in the bush. You have time to relax during the middle of the day before embarking on an evening game drive. A spectacular "sundowner" precedes dinner under the stars.
Day 9 Fly to Arusha with Dayroom at the Lodge
After a morning game drive you will fly back to Arusha where a dayroom has been reserved. You can take the opportunity to tour the coffee plantation and learn the secret of fine coffee production. Perhaps bring some fresh coffee back with you? After some dinner you are transferred to the airport where you board your late evening flight bound for Europe and where you connect with your flight to the USA.
Day 10 Arrive in The USA
Your flight returns to the USA in the afternoon
