You’ll start off in Kampala and to fully appreciate Uganda’s breathtaking diversity, you’ll explore three other corners of the country, flying privately from lodge to lodge in utter comfort. The Sudanese Border

Start your experience in Kidepo, at Apoka Lodge, the remotest luxury lodge in Africa. Its beautiful thatched cottages lie stranded in the middle of an arid land of sweeping golden savannah. Few tourists venture this far, so you’ll have the huge variety of big game all to yourself: a rare treat in today’s overcrowded safari market. You will be taken out by trained guides (so you don’t become lunch) as and when you please, on foot or by jeep, to track elephants, buffalo, zebra, lions, leopards and more. The Big Six

Now it’s time for the thick, steamy jungles of the aptly named Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – home to over half of the world’s extremely endangered Mountain Gorilla. Venturing out from Uganda’s newest boutique retreat, Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge, spend your days tracking Bwindi’s carefully habituated gorilla families.

Nothing can prepare you for the moment you see their enormous frames emerging from the shadows of the rainforest.

Splashing Safari

Finally, drive east through Uganda’s stunning countryside to the wetlands of Mburo to chill out on a supreme water safari. Settle in to your luxury tented lodge (the picture perfect Mihingo Lodge) surrounded by thick acacia woodland and slide into your infinity pool to watch the grazing herds in the valley below. Your final safari days will be spent spying on a flurry of water loving animals like hippos, crocs and waterbuck.
