Description of Extreme Luxury Safari - Wild Time in Kenya
the millions of flamingos that flock for the migration
Spend seven nights in Kenya to see some of the world’s most impressive bird migrations, the largest herd of black rhinos and abundant wild cats roaming the savannas. But unlike most African safaris, Kenya is as much about the wildlife as it is the scenery. See stunning lakes, isolated islands, rolling grasslands and moon-like landscapes to name a few.
ranching african style
Spend the first leg of your Kenya adventure on the shores of Lake Naivasha where you’ll hole up in an old farmhouse, Lolida House. A gorgeous property located on a ranch, enjoy unparallel views of the Lake and Mount Logonot, a sleeping volcano in the distance. And don’t expect to see any horses; the only thing munching on the grass here are hippos.
the lunar landscapes of hell's gate
With Lolida as your base your within easy reach to Lake Nakuru National park, where you can witness millions of bright fuchsia flamingos flocking to the shallow waters and black rhinos graze the grassy plains; Hell’s Gate Gorge famous for its bubbling geysers and moon-like landscapes; and Crescent Island, home to some of Africa’s most impressive bird life.
the race is over
From Lake Naivasha catch a small propeller plane to the legendary Maasai Mara National Reserve where you’ll be staying at the established Main Governors Camp.
govvernors camp, maasai mara
Trust us, you’re in good hands here. Located right in the heart of the Maasia not only means you’re surrounded by abundant wildlife, but you’ve already won the race to see wildlife in action. So enjoy first grabs as you roll out of bed straight into the wildlife scene. Expect giant giraffes, migrating wildebeest, herds of zebras, and a range of wild cats from sleek cheetahs to proud lions. Why not see the wildlife from a different perspective? At dawn, we can arrange for you to lift off in a hot air balloon to enjoy silent views of the rolling grasslands and watch animals come to life as the sun creeps up over the horizon.
chill out by the pool at mfangano
To bring you down from your safari high, we’ve got the perfect trick up our sleeve. Get dropped off by propeller plane at Mfangano Island dotted on Lake Victoria, and take sanctuary at Mfangano Island Lodge. A gorgeous barefoot luxury bolthole perched right on the shores of the island, you’ll find yourself in complete isolation from modern civilisation (yep, no cars on this island). So grab a book to read on your own private veranda, cool off in the soothing pool overlooking the lake and lull yourself to sleep by the lapping waters. But if you’re still yearning for some safari, there’s always the house boat to take you out for a spot of bird watching and the challenge to catch the enormous Nile Perch in time for lunch.
