Description of Bush to Coast
The tour starts in some of the most famous safari destinations in the world, with a chance to see Kenya's Big Five (lions, leopards, eElephants, buffalos and rhinos) and continues with a journey through the famous plains of the Maasai Mara National Reserve.
The next stop of your African safari in Kenya is Amboseli, where you will be welcomed by hundreds of elephants against the impressive back-drop of Mount Kilimanjaro. The journey continues to Tsavo National Park, where you'll be perfectly placed to make the short journey to the coastal town of Mombasa, where glorious beaches and crystal clear waters await you.
DAY 1
Departure from Nairobi for the short trip to Lake Naivahsa. Stop by the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley on the way. As your journey continues deep into the heart of the Rift Valley, you will pass the dormant volcano Mount Longonot. Enjoy lunch at Lake Naivasha and an afternoon game drive or bike-ride, and afterwards walk inside Hell’s Gate National Park, where you will be able to climb into the gorge to see the magnificent hot springs. Dinner is provided at Lake Naivasha, where you'll also spend the night.
DAY 2
After breakfast, you leave on a one hour boat-ride to see the hippos. The safari departs from Naivasha and heads North via the Western wall of the Rift Valley, with a chance to view one of the country’s biggest wheat plantations on the way. You reach Maasai Mara in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Return as the sun sets for an evening meal and overnight stay at the lodge.
DAY 3
A full day spent viewing game in Maasai Mara, the ultimate wildlife adventure set amongst the rolling hills and endless savanna plains. (If you are coming in July, you may be lucky enough to see the great spectacle as the wildebeest and zebra cross the river during their annual migration.) Return in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.
DAY 4
The safari tour departs from Maasai Mara, to have lunch in Nairobi. It continues to Amboseli via Namanga (Maasai town), the border between Kenya and Tanzania, to Amboseli. Dinner and overnight are organized in Amboseli.
DAY 5
Full day game-drive, where you will be delighted by hundreds of elephants, as well as cheetahs and lions, against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight as the sun sets.
DAY 6
Pre-breakfast game drive. Depart for Tsavo West. Tsavo West is famous for the Mzima Springs (with its unique underwater hippo observatory), the Shaitani lava flows and the Chaimu volcanic crater.
DAY 7
After breakfast you head towards Tsavo East National Park. This Park is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust-red elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, lions, leopards, pods of hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, Lesser Kudu, Gerenuk and Hirola. Arrive at the accommodation in time for lunch followed by an afternoon gamedrive until sunset. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 8
Depart for Mombasa, looking out for game on your way. Arrive at your chosen beach resort, where you will enjoy and relax for the next 3 nights.
DAY 9 & 10
The last two days of this luxury Kenya safari will be spent at the beautiful coast with its sandy beaches.
