Description of 8-Day Luxury Expedition Sahara Desert Tour Morocco
Day 1 Marrakech
Airport pick up depending on your time of arrival and transfer to your riad.
Overnight in Marrakech, dinner
Day 2 Marrakech - Casablanca - Rabat
Depart Marrakech in the morning, and start heading to Casablanca. Morocco's largest city, the commerical capital of Maghreb and Africa's fourth largest port. Enter the city via a residential area of ANFA. Stop in Ain Diab to stroll the famous Boulevard de la Corniche, Atlantic boardwalk lined by restaurants, bars and swimming pools. Continue father into the city visiting the United Nations Place, the Mohammed V Square, with its central fountain. At the end visit of the Hassan II Mosque, which is the largest religious monument in the world outside the Mecca. After lunch in Casablanca depart towards the capital of Morocco Rabat. There visit In the capital of Morocco visit the Mausoleum of Mohamed V, the Hassan Tower, and Kasbah Chellah near Oudaya Gardens.

Day 3 Rabat - Volubis - Meknes - Fes
Today depart Rabat in the morning and travel towards the Roman ruins of Volubis. Dating from the third century BC, Volubis was aseat of provincial authority for hundred years. The city produce wines, olive oil and exported lumber to Roman world. The site was ruined by earthquake in the 17th century. Walk between the partially restored ruins and discover the intricate floor mosaics still intact.
Then continue onto Meknes. Enter the city through the large monumental gate of "Bab Mansour" . It took fifty years for the palace and massive ramparts to be built, but not much remains today. Follow the old walls to explore the Ag Dal Basin once used to water the royal gardens and the Sultans immense stable of 12,000 horses. Within the city visit the Mosque and Mausoleum of Ismail and its decorative tombs.

Day 4 Fes
Today explore Fes, the largest and most authentic medina in the world. Fes was founded in 789 AD by Moulay Idriss and is still a medival city to this day. Start your walking tour with an English speaking guide (without one you could easily become lost) to explore the maze of narrow alleys, plazas and workshops. Visit the La Mederssa Attarine (built between 1323 and 1325) Nejjarine fountain, and the mosques of El Karaouyine (whose university is older than Oxford), Medersa Bou Inania (a beautiful example of Merinid architecture), and Baba Jloud (beautiful decorated archway), Jewish quater with its charming houses. Explore many major trades including the tanneries. End your tour with a great views of Fes from the Toms of the Merinid Kings that overlook the city.

Day 5 Fes - Sefrou - Ifrane - Azrou - Beni Mellal
Today depart Fes in the morning and head towards the city of Sefrou. A Jewish city, which predates the founding of Fes by thousand years. A place once a stop of the trans-Saharan caravan route. From Sefrou continue through the cedar forested hillsides of Ifrane. A popular site for winter ski, resembling a Swiss village. Your next stop is at Azrou a name that means "rock," and seeing the volcanic outcrop just outside the village, we understand why. Azrou is famous for its fine woodwork and gorgeous red carpets. After lunch in Azrou, travel via a mountain road towards the High Atlas waterfalls of Ouzoud. A tiny Berber village, whose names means "olives" with an impressive 100 m high waterfalls.
Overnight in Ouzoud
Day 6 Ouzoud - Marrakech
In the morning enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Ouzoud waterfalls. Have a breakfast in the restaurant overlooking the natural scenery.
Then depart via a forested mountain road to Marrakech. Enter Marrakech via the palmeries. Early afternoon arrival to Marrakech
Overnight in Marrakech
Day 7 Marrakech
Spend the day discovering the mysteries of Marrakech accompanied by an English speaking guide. Start your tour at the Koutoubia Mosque, the most prominent Minaret in Marrakech. Visit the Ali Ben Yousseff Medersa, the 12th century Almohad Palace and its carved gate, Bab Agnaou, the Saadian Toms (necropolis of 16th century mausoleums built to accommodate the toms of 13 Saadian sultans), and the Bahia Palace. After lunch, leave the Medina and visit the Majorelle Gardens and Menara Gardens.

Day 8 Marrakech
