Description of Ski Trip - Slopes of Québec
ski’s up
Arrive in Montréal and after a 90 minute drive through some stunning scenery you’ll find yourself at the Quintessence Hotel, Mont Tremblant’s boutique mountain hideaway. After a quick freshen-up, wander around the quaint pedestrian village and warm yourself up with some of Mont Tremblant’s culinary delights. Those with a sweet tooth will be in heaven sampling the maple syrup produced in the area. Make sure to get a good night’s sleep, for the following day you need to be ready to hit the powder and ride the mountain. Whether you’re a rookie or a seasoned ski bunny, Tremblant has excellent ski instructors to guide you on the slopes. And with 95 runs, 14 state-of-the-art lifts and 18 acres of ramps, rails and jumps, your skiing itch will be well and truly scratched.
sledding through the snow
Swap your skis for a sled and spend the next morning with man’s best friend, or five of them. Driving your own pack of huskies, you’ll fly through snow-covered fields, wind through the forests and cross frozen lakes. But it isn’t all about the dogs. On your journey make like Ray Mears and learn how to track wild animals in the snow. Your guide will show you how to pick up on the faintest prints and by the end of the day you’ll be able to unfold the mysteries of any animal trail.
québec city and beyond
Next stop: Québec City. Using the gorgeous boutique Priori Hotel as your base, you’ll be within easy reach to explore the city or head out for more snow. With shuttles running from the city centre direct to nearby slopes, you’re spoilt for choice. For slopes with the most jaw-dropping views, take the 90 min shuttle direct to Le Massif where you have the panorama of the St Lawrence River and its frozen ice flows while you ski. For runs closer to home, head to Stoneham for its super pipes or Mont-Saint-Anne for its 66 trails, both of which are only a 30 minute ride away. If you’re in the mood for a winter classic, throw on some snow shoes and we’ll take you to the nearby region of Saint Tite des Caps, only a 45 minute drive from your base. Get up close to nature in the great outdoors, not to mention toning up those leg muscles.
grab a kayak and head to the sea
Want to give all the skiing a break? Don a dry suit and hit the icy waters with your kayak. With your private guide, paddle your way through mini icebergs and take in the alpine scenery and crisp air. You may even bump into a beluga whale or two, as these magical creatures inhabit the fjord all year round. On your last leg of this epic adventure head to the uber-hip city of Montréal, and explore the sparkling underground city and its wealth of shops and restaurants before catching your flight home.
