Description of Monaco Grand Prix 2012 - Exclusive 4 Day Package
Thursday 24th May
Arrive at Nice Airport and check-in at the Heli-Air Monaco desk in the arrivals hall. You will soon be taking to the skies by helicopter along the stunning Cote d’Azur coast line. It is just a 7 minute journey until you touch down at Monaco Heliport where your car and driver will be awaiting your arrival to take you to the Hotel Metropole. The Hotel Metropole is a landmark hotel situated in the heart of Monaco, just steps away from Casino Square. This stunning 5* hotel features an outdoor pool, fitness centre and a fabulous spa as well as two Michellin Starred restaurants; Joel Robuchon restaurant and Yoshi Japanese restaurant also headed by Robuchon.
You may wish to relax by the pool or indulge in a spa treatment before going off to take in the sights and sounds of Monaco. Taking place today are F1 practice sessions and GP2 qualifiers, so there is sure to already be an air of excitement!
This evening we would recommend dinner at Louis XV by Alain Ducasse. Alain Ducasse's legendary Louis XV is the height of sophisticated dining set inside the opulent Hôtel de Paris. An incredible experience to start an amazing weekend.
Friday 25th May
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning and perhaps a swim too. This morning is the Porsche Mobil 1 Cup, followed by the GP2. After lunch the roads will reopen and you are free to wander the city. Grand Tourist are thrilled to be able to offer you the opportunity of a guided ‘pit walk’ this afternoon where you can get up close to the F1 cars and may be able to get in to the garages too for a behind the scenes tour - this really is a once in a life time opportunity!
As night falls head for the Café de Paris for an aperitif and to watch the world go by – Casino Square is not to be missed!
Saturday 26th May
Today sees the start of the F1 qualifiers. After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, it’s time to head to the Ermanno Palace where you will watch today’s qualifiers from a private hosted balcony. The Ermanno Palace is in a prime viewing position located directly on the track and providing an aspect of 70% of the Grand Prix circuit. From the balcony you will have a fantastic view to the first corner, St. Devote. The St. Devote corner is one of the most spectacular corners and guarantees a lot of action. You will also be able to see the start finish straight, the straight to the Casino, the straight from the tunnel to the chicane and the whole harbour area from Grandstand K to Rascasse and the pit lane. There are also several plasma screens in the suite and a giant screen opposite the balcony. The balcony is fully hosted with food and drinks provided throughout the day including a hot and cold 3-course gourmet buffet luncheon served with fine local wines and champagne. In our opinion, there is no better place to be today!
Sunday 27th May
The atmosphere today will be awesome! From the amazing vantage point at the hosted Ermanno Palace balcony you'll witness one of the most prestigious sporting events as F1 cars roar around one of the only street tracks in the world in the 70th Monaco Grand Prix. Renowned as the most exclusive Formula 1 event, it is a race which all competitors dream of winning and with a track time unbeaten since Michael Schumacher set the record for the fastest lap in 2004 - will 2012 be the year to see it broken?
Throughout the course of the day you will enjoy an open bar (including champagne) and a 3-course gourmet buffet lunch, as well as tea, coffee and pastries on arrival.
From the balcony you will observe how the drivers tackle the twists and turns of the tightest corners and the many elevation changes in the seventy eight laps of high speed tension. Once the race has drawn to a close, watch from the balcony as the new champion is announced whilst the sun sets over the city and you sip champagne – perfect! Monday 28th May
After a long lie in, enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a dip in the pool this morning before your chauffeur arrives to take you to the heliport for your helicopter transfers to Nice airport where you will catch your return flight home.
