Calling all music aficionados. If you’re getting tired of traipsing across sodden, muddy fields in the English countryside for your annual fix of outdoor musical mayhem (I know we are) then we suggest you adventure a little further this year. Come October, head for the warm shores of Lake Malawi where the utterly unique and effervescent Lake of Stars music festival takes place.
An awesome fusion of local Malawian music and the cream of the crop of DJ’s and live acts from across Europe, this is an unforgettable experience. What could be better than sharing sun-kissed sand to the tune of live international bands with likeminded gig-aholics?
The entertainment extends well into the night with DJ sets in an idyllic beach-side bar, bands playing on a purpose-built wooden stage, and a dance floor offering an unobstructed view of flickering fishing boats.
Previous headliners have included Wambali, one of Malawi‘s most prominent traditional singers; and UK representatives include DJ Yoda and members of Basement Jaxx, Groove Armada, and the funky Seth Lakeman.
15th -17th October
