Description of Private Tasting and Lunch - 'Archi-Wine' Tour I
- Contemporary architecture generally seeks to dissociate itself from the world of emotions in order to create a rational relation between building and man, where all the emotions are devoid. In some places though, the synergy between art and architecture is still recreated. An example is offered by some Tuscan wineries, were the renaissance style and old traditions embrace modern designs and technologies.
- Departing from and returning to your hotel in Florence, first stop will be at La Rocca di Frassinello wineries, where a joint venture between an Italian and French wine producers has been asking world-famous star architect Renzo Piano to design the new winemaking facility and cellar. Visit this innovative facility center around the arena-like cellar and delight the included wine tasting.
- You will take your lunch at the Enoteca la Cinquantina, located in Cecina, in a farm built during the 18th century, where you will experience traditional Tuscan dishes and an exclusive selection of wines. After lunch, enjoy a short walk on the beach.
- The next winery is the Petra wineries in Suvereto, in Northern Maremma. Designed by Mario Botta, this winery features a cylinder structure of stone surrounded by a green vegetation area, and divided by an oblique plan with two built-in arcades sideway. You will be able to appreciate such a magnificent building and taste some of the great wines produced by this winery.
