Description of Luxury Wine Vacation - A Wine Safari in the Hills of Tuscany
- For centuries, the people of Montecarlo and the beautiful surrounding villages have carefully worked the fertile, green land of Tuscany. It is thanks to the efforts of these tireless "keepers of the land" that the beauty of Mother Nature has been so immaculately preserved here. - First stop on the tour will be the picture-perfect medieval village of Montecarlo. It is incredibly well preserved and offers spectacular views of the surrounding countryside from its hilltop castle. After a tour of this historic landmark, you'll visit one of the most respected and renowned wineries of Montecarlo, La Fattoria Michi, for a wine tasting. Their incredible wines are mainly attributable to a fusion of French and Italian winemaking techniques that results in unique, vibrant flavors.
- Trattoria Da Leo, a characteristic locale in the heart of Lucca with eccentric, one-of-a-kind service, is a great lunch stop. After lunch your guide will show you this gorgeous, medieval city and you'll take a walk on top of the city's incredibly well preserved walls. These tree-lined walls are so wide that they have been converted into a jogging path and park overlooking the city center. Final stop on the tour is the formal Italian garden of the Fattoria Villa Maionchi, followed by yet another wine tasting featuring a variety of the estate's superb wines.
