Description of Culinary Tour - At the Venetian Market a Market Walk and Cooking Class
- A visit to the Rialto market gives you the opportunity to experience the true culture of native Venetians. While many fear that Venice has been completely overrun by tourists, the Rialto market -- one of the oldest markets still functioning - is a vibrant and colorful example of traditional Venice that shouldn't be missed.
- Our guide will meet you at the "Rialto Mercato" ferry station and accompany you to the Rialto food and fish market. There you will learn about the regional and seasonal products that make Venetian cooking one of the most appreciated in Italian cuisine. Some of these same ingredients will feature in the fabulous, four-course meal that you will prepare.
- Only a short walk from the Rialto, in the chef's cheerful home kitchen, you'll learn the secrets of Venice's cuisine -- how to make a perfect risotto or the best way to filet a sea bass. At the conclusion of the lesson, you will sit down at the table and enjoy the delicious dishes that you helped to create!
