Saman Villas was the first luxury boutique hotel to open in Sri Lanka in 1995 and the first hotel to open a Spa in 1998. In 2004, the entire hotel was upgraded and a new all-suite luxury garden Spa was introduced.
From the inception Saman Villas policy has been to continuously improve the products, services and facilities. Today, it has helped to retain the position as one of best boutique hotel, even after newer boutique hotels opening in Sri Lanka recently.
