Heliski Greece planned to open Mt. Olympus 2,919 m to heliskiing in March and April 2009 and invited those with an adventurous heart to join them. Since that was never been done before, its clear there were many first descents to be had. Those involved in these first few trips are known as the pioneers of skiing on this mystical and historical peak known as the Throne of the Gods.
The plan was to do an exploration trip that year and begin running trips the following year, but Greece is having such a big winter, they didn't want to miss it.
Heliski Greece offers a special opportunity to be involved in the exploration and pioneering of skiing on one of the worlds most legendary mountains, which is something that doesn't happen all that often, especially in a place like this.
