Set in 100 acres private park with fragrant gardens at the entrance to the Loire Valley, Château de La Barre offers a mixture of beauty, refinement, understated luxury and authenticity.
This château is gracious living personified, brimming with family antiques and portraits, intricate stone staircases, majestic fireplaces, grand rugs on polished floors, and monogrammed linen on huge comfy beds. (5 double rooms, 2 twin rooms and 2 single rooms, all ensuite)
Candlelit dinners are served 3 times a week in the grand dining room with family crystal and silver.Light cheese and wine tasting suppers can be enjoyed on the other nights in the XIVth century billiard room. And many little restaurants in picturesque neighbouring towns wait to be discovered Count and Countess de Vanssay, 20th generation, welcome guests like friends helping them with their sightseeing, special event bookings, airport transfers etc for a tailor made holiday.
