Chile Travel Guide

Framed by the cascading Andes Mountains and the South Pacific Ocean, Chile may be one of the thinnest countries in the world, but it certainly full of diversity and luxury travel destinations. Extending from the dry deserts of Atacama in the north to the icy glaciers in the Straits of Magellan in the South, Chile is an excellent South American luxury travel choice.

Starting in the north, the Atacama Desert rolls off the Andes Mountains and stretches into the South Pacific. Though the most northern frontiers have not seen water in ages, as you travel south the desert slowly blossoms into greener pastures. On the journey south we find Valparaíso (Paradise Valley) and the nation capital Santiago. These large cities are rich cultural destinations with style, vibrant nightlife and exceptional views of the nearby Andes Mountains. There are various hiking trails leading travelers into the magnificent mountain ranges and offer incredible views stretching to the ocean.

Chile’s hottest destinations are often the coldest. Luxury ski resorts and private ski chalets are popular as we head south into the cold, Arctic Patagonia region. This southern area is home to spectacular ski resorts, an abundance of wildlife and massive glaciers. Beyond this icy tip lies the Strait of Magellan marked by flocks of penguins and ferries going back and forth to the Tierra del Fuego.
